2019 NCA Conference October 14-16
Greetings Nazarene Camping Professionals!
We hope the summer has been fruitful for you and your ministry, and we are looking forward to another great time of Inspiration together at this year’s Nazarene Camping Association National Conference. This year’s conference will be October 14-16 at Indian Lake Nazarene Camp in Vicksburg, Michigan. Our keynote speaker for this year’s conference is Jason Hoffer. Jason has served in a variety of pastoral roles within the Church of the Nazarene. He has also served as a senior level administrator at Spring Hill Camps in Evart, Michigan. Currently Jason works as a consultant to churches, camps, and fortune 500 companies. We are very excited to see how God will use Jason to give us Inspired Hands and Inspired Hearts.
This year’s theme for our conference is Inspired Hands - Inspired Hearts. We believe that our work in Christian Camping is extremely important and in order to best do this work that God has called us to we need HIS inspiration, both in our work and in our soul. We hope that this year’s conference will provide both professional development for you as well as a fresh connection with our Loving Lord.
You will notice that there are options within the registration form to add extra nights on both ends of the event. If you plan to arrive on Sunday, October 13 and would like to have dinner with some other early arrivers, please join us at Latitude 42 at 7:00pm. The address for Latitude 42 is 7842 Portage Rd. Portage, MI 49024. Also, if you want to join up for breakfast on Monday morning (10/14), please join us at Breakfast at Tiffiny’s at 9:00am. The address for Breakfast at Tiffiny’s is 3271 W. Centre Ave. Portage, MI 49024. We encourage you to explore the Portage / Kalamazoo area for lunch on your own. There is something for everyone! The first meal of the conference will be dinner at 6:30.
NEW THIS YEAR - THE NCA “SWAP MEET”
Got some old “treasures” on your property that you aren’t using? Those “treasures” might be the very thing that another camp is looking for! To participate in the swap meet, you will need to have GOOD photos of the items that you are hoping to find a new home for. Maybe you have a garage full of mattresses? Maybe you replaced your dishwasher and don’t know what to do with the old one? Maybe you are tired of doing repairs on that old Ford Ranger? Whatever it is, take a picture and get ready to make a plug!
Register NOW to attend this year’s conference. All registration and payments are being handled through Indian Lake Nazarene Camp. Follow this link to get registered now.
The conference schedule is attached to this email for your reference. We are looking forward to seeing you in Michigan!
Yours and His,
Ken Hembree and the NCA Board
